Because of her we can: NAIDOC 2018

It’s NAIDOC Week! This year our women are being acknowledged and celebrated with the theme “Because of her we can!”. We’re celebrating the invaluable contributions that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women have made – and continue to make – to our communities, our families, our rich history and to our nation.

For at least 65,000 years, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women have carried dreaming stories, songlines, languages and knowledge that have kept our culture strong. Their achievements, their voice, their unwavering passion has and continues to give us strength and have empowered past generations and paved the way for generations to come.

There are heaps of events being held throughout Brisbane and Logan this week. We’re hosting a few and will be joining the fun at Logan NAIDOC Family Fun Day on Tuesday 10 July at Logan Gardens from 9am – 3pm, Inala NAIDOC with Inala Wangarra on Wednesday 11 July, the  Northside NAIDOC celebrations on 12 July and then the big one, Musgrave Park Family Fun Day on Friday 13 July .

Make sure you come by and say hi.
