Logan Community Fun Day – Thinking about putting together a team? It’s free!!

It’s a few months away, but nothing like getting in early!

This year’s Logan Community Fun Day will be on Saturday 21 October at Bill Norris Oval in Beenleigh.

Now in its fourth year, the carnival is an important way to connect with mob from across the region.

Ray Nagas, Community Liaison Officer with IUIH and a passionate community member has dedicated his time outside of work to help steer this years event.

“This cultural event is open to everyone, but we’re especially targeting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.”

“Events like these are important for our mob to connect, but more importantly, to deliver health and social messages to our community in a social environment.”

“We want to promote community pride in Logan as well.”

The carnival will have an open division for men, ladies and mixed teams that are 13 years old and above, and the junior carnival is for those under 12 years old.

When asked about the importance of sport in community, Ray said “Sport has always been an important vehicle for our mob to showcase their style and skills to other communities.”
