Our Child and Family Centre provides a community space with a range of services to help our mob, working with our families to support you and your kids. Check out our timetable for term 1!

Located in Glenda Street, Waterford West, we provide a range of early childhood, parenting, health and support services.

Our programs and services

Explore books with the Child and Family Centre staff. Supporting reading for Prep to Year 6. When: Monday and Wednesday Time: 8.00am-8.35am Where: Waterford West State School library
Come and have a play and sing some songs. Morning tea provided. When: Monday Time: 10.00am-12.00pm Who: For parents and carers with kids birth-2 years

Does your kid need help with homework? Come along to our Homework Club. It's free and is for Prep-Grade 6 kids. We have fun while we work on reading, writing and maths. When: Monday Time: 3.00pm-4.30pm
Good Quick Tukka is a hands on cooking program to help families learn to cook quick, easy, healthy and cheap meals. Cook a meal and take it home for dinner! An emotional resilience program for Prep-Grade 6 kids. Call us to register. When: Tuesday (Dates to be confirmed) Time: 3.00pm-4.15pm
Supports parents with kids under 6 to plan and prepare for future study or employment. Call Parent Next-YFS to make an appointment - 3826 1500. When: Wednesday Time: 9.00am-12.00pm
An art healing program. Yanbah Bullang means 'walk strong'. Through the process of creating art, Yanbah Bullang aims to help you feel safe and strong to tell your story, reflect on it and appreciate that you still have more to give to your story. Lunch and snacks provided. Please wear closed-in shoes and comfy clothes that you’re not worried about staining. You will need to get a referral to participate. We have separate men's and women's groups. When: Wednesday Time: 9.30am-2.00pm
The playgroup is in on the grounds of Jimbelunga Nursing Centre, 259 River Hills Rd, Eagleby. Share arts, craft, music and play with the residents of Jimbelunga. The playgroup is open to all families in the community. Bring hat, sunscreen, water bottle. There is a covered playground. Morning tea provided. Promoting healthy eating through play and cooking experiences for 3-5 year olds. When: Thursday Time: 10.00am-12.00pm
Do you have kids 18 months - 3 years? Come along to our weekly playgroup! It’s a great place for mums, dads and carers to meet with other adults and enjoy time with your kids through music, craft activities, game and stories. Community members from across Logan will join us to tell a story and have a yarn. Morning tea provided. When: Friday Time: 9.30am-11.30am
Is your child experiencing problems? Do you have concerns about your child’s development or educational progress? Are you having difficulty parenting your child? Our child psychologist can help. When: Monday-Friday Time: You will need to get a referral from one of our ATSICHS Brisbane medical clinics.
Whether you are planning to be a mum, are pregnant, or already have kids, we can provide you and your child with help and support at every stage.
Share the love of reading with your jarjums. Come and borrow a book from our free kids library. Available in playgroup and programed activity times

Circle of Security is a program about supporting and strengthening the parent-child relationship. It assists parents to provide their children with the emotional support needed to develop secure attachment, resilience and enhanced school readiness. Call to register. When: Dates to be confirmed.
