About our service

Helping young people find safe, stable places to call home.

The Youth Outreach Housing (YOH) program supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people aged 16–25 who are experiencing homelessness or unstable housing.

This program doesn’t provide accommodation directly, but it does offer one-on-one support to help young people navigate the housing system, build independence, and take the next step toward long-term stability and safety.

How does our service work?

The team offers flexible, one-on-one support that meets young people where they’re at. Workers walk alongside young people as they take steps toward finding safe and stable housing, helping them build independence and confidence along the way.

This support may include:

  • Meeting with a worker to talk through housing and support needs.
  • Help young people to apply for public, community, or transitional housing.
  • Support to get ID, set up Centrelink, and/or access other services.
  • Advocating with housing providers and/or government services.
  • Ongoing case management and check-ins based on the goals of the young person.
  • Culturally safe support that strengthens connection and resilience.
