Second Rower Making His Mark
Player Profile: Enua Heather
Mob: Mununjali
Team: ATSICHS Brother Boys U16s
Position: Second Rower
Introducing proud Mununjali boy, Enua, making his mark as he takes the field for the ATSICHS Brother Boys U16’s. Positioned as a second rower, Enua describes his role as building a bond with the props and providing support when they need it.
Teamwork is at the heart of his game. He says, ‘We’ve been training hard, and most of the boys already know each other from playing in the carnival last year, so we’ve been getting along well.’
This sense of brotherhood is what makes playing for the Queensland Murri Carnival (QMC) special for Enua. ‘I love playing in the QMC, being around mob, and just playing good footy with the boys.’
Reflecting on his proudest moments in previous years with QMC, Enua highlights one of his achievements as making it to the QLD Murri’s team. ‘I received a call from our coach, Ray, last year, telling me that I had made it to the possibles and probable’s. Then, a few weeks later, I was told that I had made the QLD side, playing against Samoa.’
As the ATSICHS Brother Boys U16’s team prepares for their final day of matches in this year’s QMC, Enua says, ‘We’re going out here today for the win. I know the boys will give it their best shot.’ With passion, teamwork, and a strong sense of pride in representing his community, Enua continues to shine as a rising star in rugby league.”
