Deadly Choices

A deadly choice is a healthy choice

We aim to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to make healthy choices for themselves and their families – to stop smoking, to eat good food and exercise daily. Deadly Choices (DC) also encourages Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to access their local Community Controlled Health Service and complete an annual ‘Health Check’.

DC is a social marketing campaign that is made up of:

  • tobacco cessation programs
  • community events
  • sport and recreation
  • education programs
  • cooking programs
  • leadership camps
  • social media.

DC also provides many programs throughout schools and community groups which include the healthy lifestyle, tobacco education, DC Fit and Good Quick Tucker programs. Our target age range is students and community members that are in Years 4 to 12 focusing on prevention through education and awareness.

DC are actively engaged in many regional and local community events across South East Queensland promoting a deadly choice is a healthy choice.
