Our Jajumbora BiOC Hub provides provide free midwifery support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women from pregnancy through to parenthood and until the child is three years old. We also offer basic health and development screening for expecting mothers, antenatal and postnatal maternal care and overall wellbeing checks.

We also offer child health programs and early childhood allied health services such as occupational therapy, speech therapy, child psychology and audiology.

Jajumbora is a collaboration between Logan Hospital and ATSICHS Brisbane to deliver culturally safe Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) for antenatal care for women birthing Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander babies at Logan Hospital.

This model of care provides individualised, culturally safe and women-centre care throughout pregnancy and beyond.

We have a group of midwives, including a smoking cessation Midwife, and an Aboriginal Health Worker to ensure women are taken care of both culturally as well as physically.

Referrals can be sent to Logan Hospital Antenatal clinic, indicating Jajumbora MGP on the referral form.
