Contact details
Our social health team is a trauma-informed, healing-aware and culturally safe multidisciplinary team. It is made up of psychologists, counsellors, care coordinators, housing support workers and also group facilitators.
We provide evidence-based social and emotional services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults, children and young people living in the greater Brisbane and Logan areas.
We also provide free services to adults, children and young people across various ATSICHS Brisbane sites. Most of our clients access case managements supports alongside psychology or counselling sessions. Our care coordinators also respond to social and emotional wellbeing needs, including housing support, food security, employment access, education and training, substance misuse, domestic and family violence and safety concerns and financial stress.
Psychologists:
Our adult and child psychologists provide treatment for conditions diagnosed by doctors. They can also treat a range of issues affecting social and emotional wellbeing.
Counsellors:
Our Counsellors help individuals cope with challenges. They also work closely with clients to identify their needs, goals and necessary resources to achieve these.
Social Health Care Coordinators:
Our Social Health Care Coordinators triage and provide case management supports to clients who are referred to the Social Health. They coordinate both internal and external referrals by screening and assessing the needs of families and individuals while operating within a strengths and priority-based framework. They also coordinate the complex needs of individuals and families by working within a case management framework. This ensures that all referrals receive the appropriate wraparound services to meet their holistic health and social needs.
Housing Support Officers:
Our housing support officers support clients who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and experiencing severe mental illness. Clients are supported to identify and develop recovery and accommodation goals, to connect with other services and to build their capacity for improving and maintaining their health and wellbeing.
