Meet our 2022 GP registrars

This year we’re welcoming four new GP registrars who will work across our ATSICHS Brisbane medical clinics; Dr William – Gabba, Dr Claudia – Northgate, Dr Ghazal – Logan and Dr David – Browns Plains.

Our new GP registrars provide comprehensive and holistic health assessments for our community. They each have their own speciality areas, and will visit schools as part of our 715 health check days.

Registrars are medical practitioners who are also undertaking an accredited course of study, leading to a higher medical qualification. We’re fortunate to have them on our team, and we can’t wait to see how their journey goes.

Keep reading to learn a little more about them and their areas of speciality.

Dr Ghazal Khokhar

Before getting into medicine, I worked as a pharmacist. When I began my medical career, I became very much interested in women’s health and children’s health, and that’s what I love to focus on. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, reading, cooking, listening to music and spending time with family and friends. I love working at ATSICHS Brisbane and enjoy each day at work immensely.

Dr Claudia Duke

I have lived and worked in Melbourne for the past eight years, but recently I’ve moved back to Brisbane to be closer to my family. I enjoy working at ATSICHS Brisbane, and I’m passionate about connecting with my patients and empowering them to take care of their health. In particular, I have a special interest in women’s health.

Dr William Thieu

I was born in Brisbane and studied on the Gold Coast. In my spare time, I enjoy going outdoors, playing basketball, looking after my lawn and spending time with my wife and baby son. I love getting to know my patients and am interested in holistic health and helping patients understand and better look after their chronic conditions.

Dr David Koh

I’m excited and glad to be a part of the ATSICHS Brisbane family, serving our community at the Browns Plains Clinic. I graduated from the University of Queensland and have a working background and specialty in paediatrics, emergency medicine and chronic/complex disease management. My wife is also a GP Registrar, and we are both kept busy with our three young children.
