Father and son duo prove a hit on the field

It seems the Nagas men have rugby league in their veins. Both father and son did their part to bring our under 14s DC ATSICHS team home with a victory at last week’s QMC.

Jamayhn Nagas plays half-back for our youngest team in the QMC and his coach and also father, Browns Plains clinic CLO Ray couldn’t be prouder.

“It’s such a big event and it’s great to be able to share that with my son”, Ray said.

“Jamayhn is a real team player, always giving 110% to help the team secure the win”.

“I play half, which means I’m kind of the link between the forwards and the backs. I keep the ball moving through the team to make sure it gets to the right player at the right time”, said Jamayhn. 

Jamayhn has been playing in the QMC since he started in the under 6s team and his ability is going from strength to strength.

“This year has felt more competitive since I’m not in the Junior Murri Carnival category anymore. I really like it and as Aboriginals we love competing against each other and pushing each other to be the best.

“My favourite part of the Murri Carnival is hanging out with my family and also playing the sport I love. I’ll be coming back every year for sure.”

Our under 14s team came home from the carnival with one win against Murri United and a narrow defeat from Logan City Hawks.
