Heath Reeves, a proud Kuku Yalanji boy, is making his presence felt at the Queensland Murri Carnival (QMC). Playing as a winger for the ATSICHS Brother Boys U16s, he does more than just support the team, he also engages in attacking play.
“We’ve put in the work and have been training well as a team. We’re keen to get out there and give it a go,” says Heath.
Participating in the Murri Carnival holds is special to him. He shares, “I like playing in the carnival because I can catch up with mates and have a good run.”
Heath is accompanied by his grandfather, Colin, an ATSICHS Men’s group member from Logan who has travelled to show his support. He says, “He tries hard, if the coach asks him to do something, he’ll give it his all.”
Looking ahead to this year’s competition, Heath believes in his team’s abilities, stating, “I know we’ll give it a good go, we’re ready.”
