Deadly Choices

A deadly choice is a healthy choice
We aim to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to make healthy choices for themselves and their families – to stop smoking, to eat good food and exercise daily. Deadly Choices also encourages Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to access their local Community Controlled Health Service and complete an annual ‘Health Check’.
DC is a social marketing campaign that is made up of:
- tobacco education programs
- community events
- sport and recreation
- early health education programs
- cooking programs
- leadership camps
- social media.
Deadly Choices also provides many programs throughout schools and community groups which include the Healthy Lifestyle, Tobacco education, Junior Traditional Games and Good Quick Tukka programs. Our target age range is students and community members that are in Years prep to 12 focusing in on prevention through education and awareness rather than treatment.
Deadly Choices are actively engaged in many regional and local community events across southeast Queensland promoting ‘a healthy choice is a Deadly Choice’.
